5 Tips For Getting Through A Tough Season

Not too long ago I found myself in a season that seemed a bit unfair. Yes, even as an adult we can find ourselves in a funk. As I moved through this time, I made some notes of how I was able to help myself. I want to share these with you today. Maybe you are in a great season in life and can’t relate right now. And that’s great! Tuck these away for a rainy day.

  1. Find rest. It may seem counterintuitive to take time to rest when life is crazy or you’re already feeling like pulling the covers over your head until it all goes away. But rest is important. This might be a short time in the afternoon or an entire day you take off to rejuvenate. However you do it, it’s important.

  2. Prioritize prayer and uplifting conversations. Put on worship music during the day. Daily time with the Lord is important every day, but in a season like this, we must be sure we are taking the time to lean on him.

  3. Only put 1-3 tasks on your list. Don’t add to your overwhelm. Choose the most important things to do and do only those.

  4. Keep the space around you tidy. This might mean grabbing a bin and filling it up with the stuff you don’t have time to deal with until later in order to have clear spaces. Clear spaces help us have a clear mind.

  5. Take care of your body. A QT coke slushy and a bag of flaming hot Cheetos are not a nutritious lunch. Give your body the nutrition it needs to get through this time.
