Paperless - 7 Years later! What I’ve learned.
This Spring marked 7 years that I began this paperless journey. I’ve never regretted it! In fact, it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made to keep my home clutter free.
Of course, you can find a lot more info HERE on the YouTube video. Here are 5 things I’ve learned:
Deal with it now. Dealing with paper clutter as soon as it comes in the house make such a difference. Why put it off? Most of it is trash.
I probably don’t need to keep that. Before you keep something ask yourself if you’re going to need access it again. We can be so afraid of thowing away paper, but we usually don’t need to keep it. When I first started this journey I thought I needed to keep way more than I do now.
Digital is king. When we do need to keep something, keeping it in a digital format is a clear winner!
Digital clutter is clutter. This is a warning. If we just scan it all in, it can become too much. When you keep things digitally, be sure you’re keeping it in an organized fashion. This way you can find what you need when you need it.
Don’t rely on a service. When you have important documents you are saving digitally, don’t rely on a service. We have made this mistake for some things. But thankfully for the important things, we don’t keep them on a service. We store them on a remote hard drive, like THIS ONE. You also want to be sure that anything with personal information on it is not on a cloud based program.
I can’t stress this enough, going paperless was such a great decision. If you’re interested in getting started, check THIS video out.
