3 Things I’m Working On - 4 Simple Steps to Tackle Problems

Recently I was talking with my husband and I told him it baffled me that people think I have it ALL together. When the reality is I’m sharing all the things I have worked really hard on. And I still have so many things to work on. So in his wisdom he suggested I share with you some things I’m currently working on. So here they are! (Check out the YouTube video HERE for a lot more info.)

3 things I’m working on

  1. Bedtime routine (for my daughter)

  2. My health

  3. Over commitment

Here are 4 simple steps to take when dealing with a problem:

  1. Identify the issue and desired outcome.

  2. Where is the choke point?

  3. What is my plan of action?

  4. What is the one thing I will do today?

Bedtime

  1. What is the issue? We have no routine. My desired outcome is to have a less-stress and tear free bedtime.

  2. The choke point is when I’m ready to get in the bed and then I realize it’s too late and I’m too tired to deal with it.

  3. Here is my action plan. I will create a schedule with Elsie and print it out so she can have a visual. I will also set alarms on my phone. I will then reevaluate after a week.

  4. Today I can create the schedule with Elsie and set alarms.

My Health

  1. I’ve felt more lethargic than I like. I’m in my 40s and need to make some changes. Desire: to feel better and age well.

  2. I don’t have a plan that’s the entire problem.

  3. My plan is to commit 15 minutes a day to walk or do weights. I can find online plans for free. Later I will move on to more water, less sugar, and more protein.

  4. Today I can set up a reminder on my phone and start today with 15 minutes.

Over commitment

  1. The issue is that I’ve found myself when too much on my plate too many times. My desired outcome is to say yes to what I need and want to say yes to and say no to what I need to say no to.

  2. The choke point is that I love seeing a problem through to the end and say yes too often.

  3. I don’t really have a defined plan for this. It’s a work in progress.

  4. My temporary plan is to take some time before I say yes.

These are just a few things I’m working on. I know I have to keep these in front of me to remind me to make these priority. I am coming back with a follow up video in a month or 2 to let you know how I’m doing.
