How To Organize A Dresser
We all have a place where we store our clothing. Today I’m sharing tips on how to organize a dresser.
First, you’re going to pull it all out! This way you can see wha you actually own.
Minimize - what do I actually use. Donate/ throw away what I don’t. We can hang on to t-shirts, pajamas, and underwear for far too long.
Evaluate - Is this dresser the best home for all of these items. If something doesn’t belong, move it to where it does.
Organize. Things are naturally more organized when we have less. But here are a few tips on how I organize a dresser.
Use boxes or bins to keep items together. HERE are some bins similar to the ones I have.
Place most often used items in the top drawers. And the least used items in the bottom drawer.
Fill the drawers 90% full. Studies have shown that we will fill spaces up. So don’t leave a lot of extra room. My husband and I found that both of our dressers had a lot of empty space, so we combined all of our things into one dresser and sold the other one. This gave us even more room in our closet.
Use simple, but space saving folding methods. This makes it really easy to see what you have and saves so much space!
Now put it all back. Check back in a month or so and make sure the system is working for you. An easy way to keep these bins from sliding in a drawer is to put a small drop of hot glue on them. You can pull them out if you need to, but it will keep the bins from sliding around.
Having the place where we get ready every morning minimized and organized will add margin in your life for the good things!
