5 Easy Ways To Decorate Seasonally
If you are like me, you like a touch of each season to be represented in your home. When it’s Christmas time I don’t mind to bring down the tubs filled with decorations and plan an afternoon to decorate. But for other seasons, I want to add the touch of the season in just a few minutes and without completely redecorating rooms in my house.
Today I want to share with you 5 ways you can add a touch of each season without a lot of effort, but with beautiful results.
Scent
I love the smells of the season. When Springtime arrives I love to add citrus scents to my diffuser. Nothing ushers fall in like pine and cinnamon smell. But using candles and/or diffusers your house will be smelling like the season in no time! I also love using scented hand soaps. You area already washing your hands, just choose hand soap that has a lovely seasonal scent.Outdoors
I have a simple green wreath I put on my front door for Spring and Summer. If you enjoy gardening, add some brightly colored plants to usher in spring. For the Fall I add a wreath and then we love to visit our local pumpkin patch and add a few pumpkins to the front porch. One of the things I love about these is that they are thrown away at the end of the season. One less thing to store. Mums are also beautiful in the fall. For winter I love to use a fresh pine wreath. It smells amazing as well!Kitchen
This is another space that I just switch out things I already use. I enjoy using THIS dish soap in the fall. Mrs. Meyers has great seasonally scented dish and hand soaps. I also love to switch out the hand towel that hangs on my oven to reflect season.Textures
For the fall and winter I love having a warm and fuzzy blanket for those cool mornings. For the spring and summer I choose a lighter throw to put on a living room chair.
A bring pillow says spring and a sweater pillow welcomes the fall. If you use pillow inserts and change the covers out you have only a small cover to store.Home Staples
This is one of my favorites for each season. Choose a decor piece that is already in your home and update it for each season. I have a beautiful cake stand with a glass dome on my kitchen island. For spring I put mercury glass eggs inside it. For Summer - faux lemons. For Fall - mini pumpkins and dried foliage. For Christmas - a variety of jingle bells.
You can decorate your home for each season without having to store a large amount of items and without breaking the bank!
