A Minimalist’s Guide To Gift Wrap

Lets talk about some quick gift wrap tips! I used to keep all kinds of wrapping paper, tissue paper, and ribbon, but I have found that creating a beautiful package is so simple with just a few things to keep on hand.

Have you ever bought a gift at Target and then went to grab a gift bag, ribbon, and tissue paper and realized you were about to drop $10 more dollars on that alone? While I’m not trying to be cheap, I realize that gift is more about what is inside, not the packaging. I do want it to look nice. So I want to share some tips with you.

First of all, I went through all of my gift wrap supplies and donated the ones that I knew I didn’t ever want to use again. I only kept the things that if I would choose to use if I were going to wrap a present today.

Once I used most of that up I bought a few items that make gift wrap so easy!

Here is what I keep on hand: (Affiliate links added to each item below.)

  1. 2 sizes of white gift bags. You can find these HERE and HERE.

  2. A small selection of tissue paper.

  3. A few of my favorite ribbons. (Black, leopard, gold)

  4. Gift tags

  5. A variety of cards

I love the white bags because I can create a gift for any occasion with these. I have kids and sometimes I have them decorate the bag. This is a really special touch, especially for a family member or close friend.

For the ribbon, I love a large roll of black ribbon. I think it is really classy and I can use it on a wrapped package or for a gift bag. I have a different video on how I did a gift box (HERE) and I used this same ribbon. I also have a roll of leopard ribbon that looks beautiful on my brown wrapping paper. I always keep a roll of curling ribbon on hand as well.

I had so much tissue paper that I am just now getting to the bottom of it. But once it is over, I am going to order a package of black, white, and gold. These seem to work for just about any present! You can find links to all of these in the list above.

By keeping just a few items on hand I have what I need to create a beautiful gift quickly. This saves me time and money and adds margin to my life!
