4 Unexpected Minimalism Benefits
Minimalism changed my life. I set out on this journey hoping that my home would be easier to tidy. But I have found so many unexpected benefits in this lifestyle. Today I’m sharing with you 4 unexpected benefits of a minimalistic lifestyle.
The concept of minimalism is all about prioritizing what is important and letting go of the rest. This has bled over into all areas of my life. It’s been a mind shift change. It move from your stuff to your schedule to your relationships. It’s a life changing concept.
There are less choices to be made. We are bombarded with choices each day! Many of us also make choices for other people, whether that is at home or at work. By adopting minimalism, I am taking away much of the time I spend making choices. I love this benefit. (I recently did a post about this and you can find that HERE.)
My home is more peaceful and less stressful. Studies have shown that a clutter free atmosphere is a more peaceful, less stressful environment. This allows us to do so much more than when we are overwhelmed by the amount of things in our home. Our brain can literally function better to get the important tasks done. This is a huge benefit for us when we are home with just our family, but it also allows us to enjoy our home more by letting other in more easily.
We are saving time. No longer are we consumed by cleaning out closets over and over. I can distinctly remember weekends that I spent taking everything out of the closet and re-organizing it for the fifth or 10th time. This is no longer my life and I am so thankful for that. It’s easier to clean our home and that saves so much time!
